Despite all the volatility concerns and ‘hefty energy consumption for Bitcoin mining’, crypto-currencies are here to stay. <\/span><\/p>\n

And with that, here are<\/span>\u00a04 Bitcoin or <\/span>Crypto<\/span>-related stocks that might be worth a second look.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Square<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Square\u2019s devotion to Bitcoin cannot go unnoticed. In 2018, Square designed CashApp, a mobile payment service that allows users to trade Bitcoins from the comfort of their couch, and in October 2020, the company spent $50 million to buy 4076 Bitcoins.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Square<\/span>, which is around the same age as Bitcoin,\u00a0<\/span>rewards professional\u00a0<\/span>Bitcoin developers<\/span>\u00a0and designers<\/span>\u00a0for\u00a0<\/span>outstanding work<\/span>\u00a0in Bitcoin\u2019s blockchain technology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Square CEO Jack Dorsey – who is also the co-founder of Twitter – should relish a bright future for the company’s merchant aggregator wing.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Consumer spending seems to be on the rise, especially after\u00a0<\/span>Mastercard<\/span>\u00a0reported that transaction<\/span>al volume<\/span>\u00a0had increased\u00a0<\/span>11%, 10%, and 7% year over year in the first 21 days of January<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. IBM<\/span><\/b>\u00a0Corp<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

In 2017, IBM launched USD Anchor, with the help of a cryptocurrency trading platform named Stronghold and a non-profit called Stellar.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stellar<\/span>\u00a0is\u00a0<\/span>big on crypto technology, and its\u00a0<\/span>c<\/span>oin<\/span>, Lumens, is the sixth most valuable coin in the world.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

USD Anchor is a stable coin running on\u00a0<\/span>Ethereum<\/span>\u00a0and backed by only banks that are FDIC insured.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With USD Anchor, IBM wanted<\/span>\u00a0to develop a network where any digital fiat currency\u00a0<\/span>such a Euros or Dollars\u00a0<\/span>could be used to settle transactions across multiple blockchains.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Although IBM is a late bloomer in cloud computing, revenue from cloud operations is taking off with a 10% increase to\u00a0<\/span>$7.5 billion as of Q4 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n

As a percentage of total revenue, this figure represented 37% as IBM saw profits of 80% in its cloud and cognitive software division during the same quarter.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Paypal <\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The volatility of cryptocurrency makes it a less favorable option for daily transactions, but Paypal is on mission to change this. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In October 2020, Paypal announced that its users could use their accounts to buy and sell Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies<\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a monumental move considering that 17% of PayPal\u2019s 305 million users have once tried to use the app to send digital currencies. Naturally, this should offer the online payment service provider a new well of revenue.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Between<\/span>\u00a0January and September 2020<\/span>, PayPal<\/span>\u00a0saw its revenue\u00a0<\/span>grow<\/span>\u00a0by 20%. The company\u2019s free cash flow rose by 43% owing to investment in QR code\u00a0<\/span>initiatives<\/span>\u00a0as well as its $4 billion acquisition<\/span>\u00a0of Honey<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting this year, PayPal will begin levying a marginal fee on every transaction made through its system.<\/span> All in all, there are huge growth prospects for Paypal given how cryptocurrencies can play into its huge network of customers.<\/span><\/p>\n
